This is the first and only complete recording of Rodgers and Hammerstein's grandest masterwork. JAY is proud that international film star, Christopher Lee is cast as The King, a role that requires an actor no less than the stature of his acting accomplishment but also his singing ability. It is ironic that, since Getrude Lawrence, all other full recordings of the stage score feature non English singers and actresses in the role of Anna that is so quintessentially English. Therefore it is befitting that one of the world's favourite star (British) sopranos, Valerie Masterson is Anna, a role that she was born to sing.

Being the first complete recording, this 2 CD set contains the only complete recording of the wonderful ballet, THE SMALL HOUSE OF UNCLE THOMAS - all 16 minutes and 25 seconds of it.

Gramophone Award winning artist Tinuke Olafimihan TUPTIM and LUN THA is sung by Jason Howard. Their difficult music is sung in the original key and because of their perfect pitch, they make the songs sound so easy and wonderful
